Position Summary
The Weaver is responsible for operating and monitoring weaving equipment used in the production of synthetic technical fabrics. This position ensures machines run efficiently, fabric meets quality specifications, and production goals are achieved while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor weaving looms to produce synthetic technical fabrics according to production specifications.
- Set up, thread, and start weaving machines as assigned.
- Repair broken warp and weft ends promptly to minimize machine downtime.
- Continuously inspect fabric for defects, ensuring all quality standards are met.
- Replace beams, packages, and other materials as needed to maintain continuous production.
- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and notify maintenance personnel of mechanical problems.
- Complete production reports, quality documentation, and downtime records accurately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company policies.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and operating instructions.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to achieve daily production and efficiency goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in textile manufacturing or industrial machine operation is preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn weaving equipment operation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and use hands for repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify fabric defects.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing facility producing synthetic technical fabrics. Employees are expected to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.
